Re: Sharing my story

Webslave- I am getting amazingly better on a gluten free diet. More importantly, it is specifically the elimination of wheat. As you know, Soy Sauce is not only fermented but its major ingredient is wheat. I had gone two weeks without a flare-up and had chinese food last week. I had a minor flare-up...

Re: Sharing my story

It is cold weather time and I find myself having episodes of what I call "Clamp-down". Yesterday I was at my son's baseball practice and it was very cold. Upon attempting to urinate, things seemed extremely vasoconstricted. The urine had difficulty escaping and stopped about 3/4 of the way completed...

Re: Sharing my story

Thanks All! Regarding tolerating the cystoscopies, it is a little uncomfortable. They do prep with lidocaine gel and I do feel numb during and after. I think when one has felt as much pain as we do with CPPS, things that are less painful are tolerable. My urologist did do a biopsy of a suspicious bl...

A week without pain?

All- It is interesting that I am trying to recover form a brutal Winter cold. I ran a low grade temperature for 48 hours of 100.5 degrees Fahrenheit. I noticed the urine was also very warm and the perineum warm. Today is the seventh day of the cold and I still have nausea, headaches and a productive...

Alcohol, sodas, cold weather and a thank you

All- I am quite sensitive to fermented foods. I am also very sensitive to wheat, although I do not have a wheat allergy or Celiac Disease. My IC/CPPS is most always relieved by pure distilled alcohol like vodka. It usually takes an ounce to two ounces. I don not have to get intoxicated to receive th...

Re: Hey everyone

Flomax acts profoundly on the internal sphincter of the bladder. If you are not sexually active, you will receive relief! I found it to cause retrograde ejaculation which is also very painful. This would be explained by the ejaculate finding the path of least resistance and moving retrograde into th...

Re: Sharing my story

Thanks, bobby: No pelvic floor tightness. When I was still on Zocor and this first began, I felt a lot of pelvic floor pain like deep bruising. I would describe it as more of a prostatitis type of ache. I only feel this after recurrent bladder infections that can progress to prostatitis. I have a fr...

Sharing my story

I have been struggling with IC for 4 years now. I am 50 years old. If anybody has any suggestions to help they would be appreciated. I think it all started with chronic use of Zocor. I experienced deep muscle aches, weakness and tiredness while using it for 10 years. 4 years ago, I began to experien...
