Hip Impingement (FAI) as an underlying cause of CPPS

Been a long time since I posted because i plateaued and didn't have the time or wherewithal push forward but quick summary--I've been using the Wise protocol for about a decade now, everything short of visiting the clinic: relaxation, trigger point PT and self-administered internal release with wand...

Re: Erection leads to flare-up

Pain in the penis can be referred from various muscles but I had very similar symptoms and with the help of Amy Flutterman traced most of them to the bulbospongiosus muscle and the ischio-cavernous muscle- these are very superficial muscles and easily accessible with external massage- I've written s...

Re: My journal (Prisoner's Case)

In my case pain after bowel movements was the result of "snap back" pain- that is the muscles associated with a bowel movement (internal, external sphincter, the Levator ani, and also the bulbospongiosus and ischiocavernous muscles) were so used to be in a case of constant contraction that when they...

Re: Perineal Pain = prostate or muscular tension

The muscle you are describing as a hard band in the perineum is almost surely the bulbospongiosus- I had tension problems with this muscle for five years...erection/post-ejaculatory pain, post-urination pain. For me, any activity which demanded a contraction of that muscle would result in an extende...

Re: Stretches & trigger pts for urethral burning? (Hacksquat)

Hacksquat, I'm not sure exactly what sensation you are describing when you say "urethral burning," but if it occurs after urination and ejaculation both, I'd guess it has to do with the contraction of the bulbospongiosus muscle that cradles the urethra and controls its contractions for both of those...

Re: Spasms

please find my previous post about the bulbospongiosis muscle- this is the primary muscle that extends through the perineum (under testicles) up the penis and can spasm and cause a lot of flare-up pain. I've detailed a way to deal with it. best of luck.

Re: Magic Bullet for Post Ejac Pain/Testicular Heaviness?

Sure- the idea is to massage the entirety of the bulbospongiosus muscle pictured in red here: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/d/d7/Bulbospongiosus-Male.png/250px-Bulbospongiosus-Male.png in practice you can feel it as a sheath about an inch wide running from the center base of th...

Magic Bullet for Post Ejac Pain/Testicular Heaviness?

After having CPPS for 5 years and having, through the SP protocol and cognitive behavioral therapy, gotten rid of almost all of symptoms, I still had one nagging quality of life issue: post ejaculatory pain. Usually this would come on within an hour or so after ejaculation and last for upto a day- a...

pain after ejaculation: relaxation technique

Like many others here my most stubborn (and really only remaining symptom) is pain after ejaculation. For me the pain manifests itself in two (connected ways): a throbbing/aching pain in the shaft of the penis itself, this feels like a heavy bruise and lasts for a few hours; a more acute tight/burni...

Codeine/Hydrocodone, good combo for PE+CPPS

Little Backstory: Suffering from CPPS for 5+ years (does that make me the youngest here? who knows)...with pyschotherapy, intermittent physio, relaxation and stretching i've cut out all my symptoms except post-ejaculatory pain...onset in about an hour after orgasm...manifests itself as a sore "bruis...

Re: Tight in abs and around bladder

moment to moment relaxation of the abs has helped a lot for me in managing this: try and take stock, as much as possible during the day (especially when you are engaged in activities) how you are carrying your abs. Are you sucking them in? Are you clenching them? What about when your urinate or defe...

Re: CPPS and sleep

If I had to guess, I'd say you also clench/grind your teeth while you sleep. I have this same problem- for me sleep is a sort of bastion for tension and unconscious tensing behaviors- moment to moment relaxation and awareness of our bodies can help while we are conscious and awake, but when we go to...

my CPPS doctor won't prescribe me ultram because its too much of a serious 'narcotic', in one sense I'm glad to have a conservative doctor but...I suppose the next step is to ask the Gastro about that and maybe get his support

I took 1mg Ativan and 20mg Elavil, a trycyclic, for around three months- made me feel very tired and hungover in the morning. Turned out the Elavil wasn't doing much at all for me, so I have since stopped it, and now only use Ativan for flares.

right you are- sorry for the misinformation. But celebrex has been recommended to me by a Gastro, because Aleve (naproxen) was too harsh on my stomach. so there is something to that.
