Re: U&F and PT

So, I'm not sure if this qualifies as a "success" story though I feel like my darkest days with this are now behind me. Yes, it requires regular treatment: for me, that means nightly warm baths, time stretching, and of course, keeping stress down. For the long term, I have had to avoid gluten comple...

Re: U&F and PT

SO what you are saying, and what my PT is saying basically, is that I just have to give it time (I've only been GF for 2 1/2 months now) and let this situation resolve itself, while reducing stress and continuing to stretch, right?

Re: U&F and PT

Another Q for you Webslave. So after almost a year of work, one thing about working with my PT that really distressed me is that, while we were able to find TrPs externally, and internally toward my tailbone, we were never able to "recreate" my urinary symptoms through internal trigger points, and s...

Re: U&F and PT

Oh yeah, they've become so infrequent but this one has been particularly bad that I almost forgot what it was like....and good motivation to keep working to make sure this doesn't happen for a while.

Re: U&F and PT

Oh I definitely realize that, and it is certainly something that has stressed me out a bit, but I had been dealing with stress a lot better, without using any medication, and had been sleeping through the night pretty consistently, whereas Sunday, Monday, Tuesday it feels like have gone back to "Squ...

Re: U&F and PT

So just need a bit of reassurance right now. I've felt really good for the past 2-3 months, worked hard on relaxation, diet, etc., slept through the night all weekend, and I noticed that a bit of dairy was triggering me yesterday. Anyway, have had a horrible flare up over night, did not sleep, wasn'...

Re: U&F and PT

Just a quick update, so I went to this amazing doctor here in the DC area a few weeks back, and he suggested, in addition to what I was already doing, to include a bunch of new things: going gluten free, magnesium supplements, and some sort of medical option (benzo, etc.). So far, I've done the Glut...

Re: U&F and PT

Thanks. Is this something that you've seen before? And when should I expect to see improvement (if indeed it was Hernia-related): months? years?

Re: U&F and PT

Will do, also going to do therapy + continue the PT now that the surgeon has cleared me to do so. The surgeon did say something that was disconcerting--he told me that when he went in, that he didn't think the hernia was affecting the bladder or causing the bladder issues. It could be done indirectl...

Re: U&F and PT

WIll do.

In the meantime, while I am "waiting" for this to resolve itself, would you suggest continuing the PT? What other treatments might be helpful?

Re: U&F and PT

If someone could respond that'd be great. SO I went to my uro for my 6 month check up, and, for the first time, he mentioned to me that me having a inguinal hernia (which appeared as a bulge about 6-8 weeks before the symptoms started) might be the primary cause of my CPPS symptoms. I had it operate...

Hit a rut in my recovery

Hi all, Haven't posted in a while, and I was hoping to get some support/help as to what to do next. I began PT in May, and slowly the symptoms have been going away. Yes, there were flare ups here and there, but through stretching, breathing exercises, and keeping my stress levels down generally I wa...

Re: U&F and PT

Another update... So I've been doing the PT since May, and slowly but surely coming around. Every flare up has another few days in between, and the flare ups slowly get less and less intense. In fact, what I once called a "good day" I would now call a flare up. Pain has decreased significantly (befo...

Re: U&F and PT

So I just wanted to give a quick update. I started PT about 6 weeks ago, and was doing really really well until last week, when the day after PT I got a huge flare up (not even sure what caused it), lasted all weekend long, and only yesterday did it start to go away. Is this normal? Granted, I've be...
