Re: No pain - just constant sensation of needing to urinate

I also do not have much issue with spicy or acidic food but I try to avoid it due to my IBS. Normal cystoscopies do NOT rule out IC... unfortunately. In fact there really is NO accepted test for affirmative IC diagnosis. From my understanding it's all clinical symptoms. I totally agree that there is...

Re: No pain - just constant sensation of needing to urinate

Where can one get one of these wands? Are they available for any of us or do you have to be part of the Wise- Anderson clinic? TIA

Re: No pain - just constant sensation of needing to urinate

CMT23, Have you ever thought about IC as your diagnosis? I only ask as I have very similar symptoms as you and after reading all I could about IC I feel that my condition is closer to that than true prostatitis. I think there is significant overlap in symptoms for guys and probably similar causes so...

Re: Hello all! New to the forum but not new to CPPS

Hey Yoink, Reading your story and I share quite a lot of the same sx's with you. I really have no pain to speak of (other than a mildly irritating ache in my groin on both sides) but have the frequency issues (flares at times and recently has been a little better...but when it flares it's all-consum...

Re: Clenching during sleep

Thanks guys. I'm not sure that there is pelvic floor clenching during sleep but I cannot otherwise explain why I go to bed feeling essentially normal and then upon awakening have the start of a flare. My flares usually consist of the feelings of poor urination (feels like I have to strain and that I...

Clenching during sleep

Has anyone ever felt here that upon awakening that for whatever reasons there is a flare up starting? Could it be analogous to the clenching that someone with TMJ does as related to their jaw muscles? Stress related clenching during sleep may be responsible for some flares? How possibly can one cont...

Re: weak stream/straining to urinate/incomplete voiding

It's rare beyond belief...reportable really if someone your age has prostate cancer. Take that worry off the table. UTI's definitely can be a result of incomplete bladder emptying but a UTI is easy to diagnose. Even without a UTI if you have flow issues I would recommend urodynamics and specifically...

Re: Bladder neck ? I am more confused than I was before !!!

My understanding is that the ONLY way to diagnose a bladder neck obstruction is via video urodynamic tests. This is where they fill your bladder with contrast and measure flow/pressure while they are obtaining pictures as you urinate. IMO it would not be wise to proceed with any procedure on your bl...

Re: Newbie, my story looking for feedback

It seems unlikely to be a stricture as I would guess that your stream issue would be more pronounced with a more forceful flow...IMHO. And it would always be there... not intermittent. Try conservative approaches of course but make sure you get video urodynamics if a future cystoscopy is normal. It'...

Re: some questions...

I had a single incision BNI ... and I'm using the terms interchangeably ... not sure if that's correct tho. I absolutely had improvement in my flow which at the time was my only concern. The stream was still not "normal" but my flow was measured as normal afterwards and my nocturia completely went a...

Re: Flomax with quecertin dangerous?

I took Flomax with Prosta Q and had no issues whatsoever. The Flomax didn't seem to help much but I was on it before the Prosta Q and there was no help alone either. Still on the Prosta Q...

Re: Newbie, my story looking for feedback

Some of your stream issues could be due to not having a very full bladder when you have the urgency issue. In order to generate a stronger stream your bladder has to be somewhat full. Now if you always have stream issues no matter what then you need some more Urologic evaluation. I agree with Websla...

Re: some questions...

Thank you for your input. I am in agreement with you but it's reassuring on some level to have input by those here who have at least lived thru some of the same things. I'm trying to ride out the achiness in my testicles...treating with support and Ibuprofen. I fear being labeled "a problem patient"...

some questions...

I have not posted a lot but have lurking and reading a lot here. I have basically had only voiding issues manifested by abnormal stream and some minimal post voiding burning (this is intermittent but the stream issues are constant.) I had a TUIP done about 13 years ago and while the urine flow was d...

Re: Saying Hi & my symptoms- One more Question

Hi all, I just wanted you all to know that I have had several cystoscopies and the most recent was today! Was it pleasurable...absolutely not! The actual procedure itself, however, is a piece of cake. They use a flexible scope and numbing jelly in the urethra. The after part is the worst...intense b...
