Re: Newbie Story & Questions

Your post really does show a true understanding of this condition and your own personal condition which is definitely similar to mine. I would be interested in hearing of what you do to help stretch these muscles. The Theracane helps me stretch out the muscles where the hamstrings attach to the pelv...

Re: Newbie Story & Questions

Here is an update on my condition and my thinking. Much of this is old hat for many of you, but sometimes just writing it out is helpful to my mental health, so indulge me. I had a month or two this spring when things were much better, but am now in the middle of a flare up. My symptoms tend to be m...

Re: Flare after four years.

How long have some of you guys who have had this awhile experienced a bad flare? I had a day or two that wasn't so bad then today after a bowel movement here's the burn again. Also started aloe vera (maybe for the second time don't remember since I've been tried everything over the years). Just try...

Re: Newbie (Pete123's Case)

My most recent flare up was preceded by nine months of mysterious nerve issues - mostly parasthesias and feeling cold patches. When the flare up happened it basically "replaced" those other problems. I had a million tests done and the conclusion was that the nerve problems were caused by anxiety. Wh...

That's it in a nutshell, isn't it (no pun intended)?

Re: summary of tools/meds to deal with painful ejaculation

Some of these things may be idiosyncratic, but I notice a significant difference in effect between masturbation and intercourse - it is much less likely for me to experience lasting pain after intercourse than after masturbation. I figure this has to do with the way in which the various pelvic muscl...

Re: Flare after four years.

With all due respect, you just had a baby, are probably getting insufficient sleep, have stress at work and now have a flare-up, adding to your stress - and you're wondering why you're sleepy and fatigued? Of course, it's easy for me to say that as an observer - when it's happening to me, I'm mystif...

Re: "Teach Us To Sit Still" - A must read book...

Just got my US hardcover copy from Amazon. Just started reading it and like it already. Realized that I have read a novel by Parks. It's a real bonus to have this story told by a first-rate novelist.

Re: Does anyone share my specific symptoms???

Hi Richie. Yes, I usually experience the exact same pattern. Very similar symptoms to yours. Eating a lot of fiber to keep your stools easier to pass may help. And a sitz bath after defecating, if you can manage. You are not alone!

Re: Newbie Story & Questions

So darn frustrated. Symptoms have waxed and waned as they typically do (currently waxing) but PSA continues to climb pretty dramatically. My urologist puts a fair amount of stock in the clean biopsy I had last year, but acknowledges that it could have missed something. It's almost inevitable that I ...

Re: Opinions

Hey Frozentundra, a lot of what you're describing is very similar to what I've experienced. This is more in the way of a "you're not alone" note than a "try this" note. I, like many others here, find bowel movements to be a major pain triggering event. It's pretty much as you describe: when I wake u...

Re: The Right Groin

Bizarrely I've just started to get the same thing - for the last 7 weeks. Just came on - first it was an ache in my right ball but now I get the ache in that join - sometimes feels a bit stinging, but mostly aches. Worse after I've been sitting for a while (car/train) - almost feels like an irritat...

Re: The Right Groin

Jay, that's pretty much what I'm finding too. Trigger points especially along the inside of the thigh. One of the most frustrating things is that most pains end up not being what the feel like because of referral.

The Right Groin

I count myself fortunate at this point because I've had some success alleviating a number of my symptoms through PT, relaxation, lifestyle adjustments and patience! My most persistent issue is not the worst one to have for certain, but it is puzzling - no matter what my other symptoms, I almost alwa...

Re: Erection leads to flare-up

Yes indeed. I've got an unfortunate situation - a long-distance relationship. I see my girlfriend once every 4-5 weeks, we have sex every night for three or four nights, then nothing for weeks. The visits usually result in a flare-up after the fact. In an ideal world, I would think 3 times a week ev...
