Merry Christmas Webslave and everybody
Well its over a year now since attending the Wise Clinic and I am now essentially pain free. Thank you Webslave for this site because if I hadnt combed it I would not have flown to California and found my missing link - the trigger points and over contracted pelvic muscles. So Happy Christmas to all...

Re: Gluten linked to bladder pain
I tried D mannose in the very beginning. I think it is really only effective if you have an infection as it works on the e.coli bacteria. That's my understanding. It made me worse as it is a cranberry extract and is high in salicylates. DMcU I have never tried Quercetin . Generally anyone who is sal...

Re: Gluten linked to bladder pain
Gin and Volka are two alcohols that are low salicylate. As are many of the bland foods that agree with bladders i.e rice, meat, green beans and pears. The low salicylate diet helped me contol my symptoms most before I understood the neuro muscular cause. Salicylates irritate inflamed nerve endings i...

Re: Myofascial trigger points
Its no different for some women. I wonder how many gym junkie girls like I was are in the downward spiral of confusion and fear gobbling macrodantin. Its a good article. But getting the end result took me across the world. Still most doctors would not make the connection nor most PTs.

Re: New Spanish study on pelvic pain & trigger points
Webslave, when you read this article, and the one on Women and the neuroanatomy of CPP, it all sounds so mainstream in the understanding of the problem now. I know this is not the case when you go looking for help. This still is out there for most specialists. The good thing you are doing is posting...

Both — its accepting how things are you know paradoxically...and consciously every time I press a lift button, or standing up or waiting for the lights to change walking to work ..relaxing my butt. The mind is such a big part of it..stopping and allowing yourself to stop is important and resting wit...

Re: Bacteria and female bladder CPPS
I did the Fugazzotto protocol. As I like every one hoped it would be an infection. As taking a course of antibiotics would be so much easier than the hard work I have and am putting in. So did a soy broth culture (longer term culture) which grew a bacteria. So I went on long term antibiotics for a y...

Re: Bacteria and female bladder CPPS
I did the Dr. Fugazzotto protocol when we did a soy broth culture. So was on antibiotics for a year. Got worse only sustained improvement has been myofascial. Now I struggle with thrush from years of antibiotics and a compromised gut. That is healing slowly but now I am on anti fungals all the time ...

Webslave I think you're right about the sitting. My job is now sitting all day. ON the days I get out to yoga or stretch at lunch I get less pain and use less meds. I get up as much as I can and relax the pelvic floor but it requires commitment. Its no different for me to the men. But I watched Dr W...

Re: The Stress-Disease Connection
Over the years the pain has changed which is because I think it combines bladder nerve pain and pelvic muscle pain from clenching as I used to get burning only after I went so I avoided going and that made the whole thing worse. I have pain in the bladder as I have had my bladder filled with anesthe...

Re: Prostatitis and Periodontal Disease Connection
The only link that rings a bell with me is in HITP where they talk about gum inflammation and anxiety and pelvic pain. Linking inflammation with stress and irritable bowel etc. But this sounds like its linked to PSA counts not stress. Is PSA linked to stress?

Re: The Stress-Disease Connection
What a good discussion. This is why CBT through pain clinics can be the best thing. Talking therapy can sort out things that have upset you for so long that you didn't realise were a part of the fabric of your pain...because you contract to protect yourself. He is right you have to take a holistic a...

Re: Mechanosensory transduction, ATP, nerve excitability
That's so interesting. I spoke to Dr Wise and said I don't want to take these but I know in the past I have got off drugs too soon and it has added to the pain and wind up. He said that was an important self knowledge. So I figure at a 1/4 of a 5mg tab if thats working to halt the pain well its a go...

Re: Mechanosensory transduction, ATP, nerve excitability
Would that explain why even if I take a very small amount of Endone (aust :Oxycodone hydrochloride) sometimes the pain can just evaporate for a day..the opioids effect the way the nervous system interpret the pain?

Re: Female perspective on Wise Clinic Santa Rosa
Love the fact that despite all that you are still 50% better that is great. I am a believer but am still struggling with what I eat. Little sweet or fruit makes my bladder irritated. But its probably a combination of things to get under control. Work and the kids are also stressful here too. Poor hu...
