Re: Woes of a Prostatitis Newbie

Don't give up and don't think about it 24x7. Try to enjoy life and continue with your stretches. Good luck.

Prostatitis - Mind body connection?

Hi guys, it has been a long time since I posted. I wanted to share some stuff and hopefully it will help at least one person here. Since the last post I stopped physiotherapy since it was a waste of time. The guy was just putting me on automatic massage and collecting my money. Since last Feb my mus...

Re: My Story

"Vasculitis" is sometimes loosely applied to what looks like inflamed or enlarged blood vessels, but true vasculitis can be very serious. To reassure you, enlarged blood vessels are common in and around the prostates of men with our condition, mainly due to the pro-inflammatory actions of the local...

Re: My Story

There was nothing in my KUB x-ray. Ultrasound could not diagnose anything for sure (they were confused if there was any calcification or if it was just an enlarged vein, I believe it was called Vasculitis). So now doc. wants me to go for CT as well. I enquired about EMG test and doc. wanted that as ...

Thanks for the replies guys. I have an appointment soon with my doc and I will discuss with my doc to see if I still need to go for an EMG.

Re: My Story

Thanks, makes sense. It is the same procedure here in Canada. Took me 2 months to get an appointment for EMG. So I guess I will just do it now based on what you have said. If there is another flare up then I might have to wait another 2 months before getting another appointment.

Re: My Story

For an EMG, basically they plant some needles in perineal region, they wrap your penis with electrodes and they insert a gloved electric finger in you. They then send electric current and monitor the reactions. While I found it not pleasing at all, it didn't increased my symptoms afterward. Since i...

Re: My Story

Guys I have a EMG for PNE entrapment this week. What does it involve?? Where do they pass the electric shock (thighs, butt??)? Also my symptoms have greatly reduced. Do you stil recommend I go with it. I am actually afraid that this might cause it to come back. Also are there any long term effects o...

Re: My Story

Floating stool doesn't necessarily indicate a problem. For some people, it simply happens. It can also be the result of nutrient malabsorption, IBS, celiac disease, other food allergies, etc. Check with your doctor if it goes on for more than a week or two. Given your rumbling gut, I would bet IBS,...

Re: My Story

I'm in Toronto also. I must've had like 5 ultrasounds done before I gave up on that. they never found anything. Do you feel like you have a lot of gas? The only relief I get from my pain is, ahem, passing gas. I found its important to be in touch with the parts of your body that need to be stretche...

Re: My Story

Yesterday was embarrassing. My stomach made a huge sound and it was echoed in the entire room :boom: I am not sure why this is happening. Also I noticed that my stool floats. Looks like there may be lots of gas inside. Still same old symptoms. Constant soreness in right testicle and occasionally mil...

Re: New to this... kinda freaking out :0)

Thank you Carl, for your reply. I will def. see what I can do about these options. Aleve (naproxen) (naproxen) is now on my shopping list ;0) Maybe I do have OAB? My main and somewhat only symptom is a constant urge to pee. Not every half hour to 2 hours as is often mentioned, but constant. It does...

Re: My Story

I just wanted to note to you that most Toronto urologists are not very up to date on their CPPS knowledge. I hope that has changed in the last few years, but may not have. I would still encourage you to go to rule out other things, but if this is just plain old CPPS be proactive about getting physi...
