Re: Botox used to ease pelvic pain
I searched this forum over and over, and I have not seen people who tried Botox. Anyone? I mean, CPPS have ruined our lives, and Botox has been apparently used successfully. My PT, who only does pelvic floor told me that if after few sessions I don't feel relief, she suggest that she would refer me ...

Re: AUA 2020, some interesting studies
Agreed regarding exercise. It might distract and reduce anxiety, and blood flow (positive), but it also puts stress on the muscles and nerves. I personally have that mixed experience. Regarding the catasrophising study. I really have no idea how such a small sample could be meaningful. In my field t...

Re: Cialis / tadalafil (PDE5) may be useful in CPPS
I believe it can help. Had mixed experience with it. Everything seems more healthy down there when I take it, including urination. However, the drawback for me is that the more I get erections at night, the worse I wake up in the morning. The days when I have sexual dreams or wake up with a strong e...

Re: Dynamic Contraction Technique DCT Therapy thread
Any news on the subject? Before I invest in a TheraGun I wanted to see if anyone tried it on here. I have a brookstone massager - I believe it is much gentler - and I feel it helps a tiny bit. And I am wondering whether stronger percussion helps more. My main problem is in the levator ani (pubo musc...

OK as far as I can see these are mostly (positive) reports by Carld who was on the site for a while. Maybe I missed a couple of posts. Unfortunately not many data points it seems :/

Re: Neuromodulation for Pelvic and Urogenital Pain
I see. Too bad. I am running out of options and my life has been miserable. So I was hoping for something new to come out. I want to mention two things that could be coincidental, Grateful for your thoughts... - A chiropractor used to use electrical muscle stimulator on me and during that period I f...

Neuromodulation for Pelvic and Urogenital Pain
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6209873/ Sorry if this has been posted before but I didn't find it with a search. The results - mostly from 2018 - are encouraging. They have tried it in a population of CPPS patients too. Anyone tried it and has some experience? I wonder which providers ...

CPPS, biomolecules, medicinal plants article
I am always skeptical of medicines for CPPS and even more of plant based. But this article looks like an interesting review. If anyone has the full text please let us know. Abstract Chronic pelvic pain syndrome (CPPS) can be triggered by a various types of gynecological, gastrointestinal, urological...

Re: MRI capable of diagnosing CPPS?
Let's say this gets confirmed, is there something that can be done about it? The specificity of the diagnosis is pretty impressive.
Admin comment: Let's first wait and see it confirmed. It would be helpful to have such a straightforward diagnostic tool, albeit expensive.

Re: Extracorporeal shock-wave therapy and CPPS
Yes, while searching the internet and pubmed (I have not done so in a while) ESWT seems to be the only treatment that that is new and has shown efficacy in respectable studies. I am surprised no one here seem to have benefited from it.

Re: Botox used to ease pelvic pain
Regarding the fact it is not permanent, dwindles at 12 months, isn't that the case for any Botox treatment anyway? We are talking about only one shot, not repetitive ones. So 1 year is pretty good, compared to what we have. And I assume it could be repeated yearly (just like people who do wrinkles B...

When it says reverses neuroplasticity that scares me, as someone trying to recover from concussion... Obviously I am ignorant about what it means in this context ... Are we talking about the same neuroplasticity?

Re: Prostate stone / nanobacteria paper now published
Did this potential treatment make it to a next phase controlled placebo? Any experiences on this from the forum, or further thoughts? My uro said I have 2 calcifications in my prostate (they looked quite big on CT scan) I used to have only one 8 years back or so I think. He said it is very normal, 8...
