Visited Carolyn Vandyken in Cambridge, Ontario

I just wanted to let everyone from Ontario know that Carolyn Vandyken is fantastic. She knows all about treating this and has had many patients with it fully recover. She's a registered physiotherapist, acupuncturist, and performs trigger point release. She also knows about the psychological factor ...

How to get out of the 'guarded state'

Someone in another post mentioned that a reason for pelvic pain may be because one has entered a permanent 'guarded state'. I think this describes what I have perfectly. My body feels like it's constantly on the defensive - like it needs to fend off some threat, even when I'm not doing anything arou...

Re: universal analogy for CPPS?

Universal human value: the pursuit of happiness. If you reside in the United States, you have the added benefit of your founders referencing this in the very beginning of your country's foundation. I mean, why are we all here? I know I'm here because it would make me very happy to be rid of this pro...

Re: Obsessive compulsive disorder and CPPS

I suggest you get your obsessive thinking treated. You could try SSRIs like Lexapro. Also, cognitive therapy via psychotherapist. If you also have social phobia (commonly encountered in anxiety disorders), try beta blockers like Propranolol (may reduce some peripheral symptoms of anxiety, such as t...

Re: Obsessive compulsive disorder and CPPS

What about your mind constantly reminding you about CPPS? Some days, my mind thinks about pelvic pain like once every 10 seconds - no exaggerating. I'm exhausted after only a few minutes of it, but it lasts the whole day, and then it takes me hours to fall asleep because of it. Does anyone else get ...

Re: Obsessive compulsive disorder and CPPS

Does anyone on here get a hold on their OCD via natural remedies (ie relaxation)? From what I've heard, it's very hard to combat it without medication, but it can be done.

Willing to pay premium for Duro-med cushion

I have been to multiple (5+) websites, including amazon.com, emailed multiple websites, and I've even called Duro-med (to which I'm still awaiting a reply), to find the 4" Duro-med latex cushion that is shippable to CANADA. If anyone is willing to, I will pay a premium on top of however much it cost...

Obsessive compulsive disorder and CPPS

Does anyone on here have OCD? I'm just curious because I know that OCD is an anxiety related disorder. I think I may have some symptoms of it as I do think an awful lot about CPPS due to the pain I've been in for the past decade. Although I'm not really sure if that has more to do with the pain or t...

Re: Does Chronic Prostatitis Exist?

So should I take a hot bath? I've found that taking hot bathes helps my pelvic muscles relax, but if it's causing my prostate to become further inflamed, should I continue to do it? What would you recommend? Have you read anything pointing to the fact that maybe it isn't a good idea to be taking lon...

Re: Anyone on here ever been proven to have prostatitis?

The reason I asked this question was because I had an ultrasound done that proved I had an inflamed prostate (not just the opinion of a proctologist). I am wondering if it was the inflamed prostate that led to muscle tension, or the other way around. If it was muscle tension that led to the inflamed...

Anyone on here ever been proven to have prostatitis?

Has anyone on these forums ever been physically proven (via ultrasound imaging, etc.) to have an inflamed prostate/prostatitis? Do you believe that it was a result of chronic tension surrounding the prostate, causing it to become inflamed? To those of you who have been healed, has your 'prostatitis'...

Anyone near Toronto ever seen Nelly Faghani?

Anyone near Toronto, Ontario ever seen the physiotherapist Nelly Faghani? I've read on these forums that some people had been to see Carolyn Vandyken and was just wondering if anyone had gone to see this other physiotherapist and what they thought of her. Thanks in advance!

Re: Duro-med latex cushions - doesn't ship to Canada!

I can't even contact them at their website. Something messes up when I try filling out the contact forms. Can anyone help me out here? I really need one of those cushions!
