Re: Alcohol and Muscle Relaxation

Alcohol increases urination. Generally, alcohol is a diuretic, meaning it increases urination and flushes water from the body. The more alcohol you drink, the more water your body loses. This is because when alcohol is consumed, it enters the bloodstream and causes the pituitary gland in the brain ...

Re: What exercises can you do?

Do you mean what stretches to do? There are some shown in the Headache in the pelvis book. As far as regular exercising I've found that walking and swimming have been good and haven't caused any major flare-ups.

Re: First Time Poster (Gmccormack's Case)

I would try something like Prosta-Q first before more courses of AB.

Re: Wet and Spongy feeling in prostate

Thanks. In my case no partner at the moment :(.......I think masturbating isn't making it worse, but it's not making it better either. I think I'm going to go an extended period without doing it to see what that does. The hypersensitivity thing is pretty strange for sure. It's kind of bad, but reall...

Re: Wet and Spongy feeling in prostate

Thanks for your response Carld. I am a highly driven person and am taking this thing full on. Have only had it for a few months so hopefully I can catch it early on. Just out of curiosity; did you have the golf ball feeling? If so, what has helped deal with that the most in your protocol? I like to...

Re:

I too have wakefulness throughout the night. Since I was diagnosed with prostatitis, I've had ultra-vivid dreams and I wake up 2 to 3 times per night (not because I have to go the bathroom). I used to be able to sleep 9-10 hours no problem, and for the last 4 months, I'm lucky if I get 5 hours of s...

Re: Fed Issues Cipro Warning

I had surgery to repair my Achilles tendon last September and right around when I had my initial bout of frequent urination which started this whole thing, I was given Levaquin (a fluoroquinolone) for what the doctor thought was pleurisy around my ribcage(I had been having pains in that area when I ...

Re: My current symptoms

Jerry I have very similar symptoms to yours and the urinary frequency is quite annoying and seems to dominate my life. I am finally going to see a PT later this month and hopefully this will help. My frequency seems to be much better overall the last couple months, although I do have some periods o...

Re: My current symptoms

Thanks, Jay. I don't really want to say I'm hoping I have pelvic floor dysfunction, but I'd like to get some kind of physical reason for what is causing this. I realize that I may mentally/psychologically have caused or am causing this somehow, but it must be some kind of physical problem that I can...

My current symptoms

Hi everyone. I guess I just need an outlet today on what I've been feeling of late. I'm not having a lot of urinary frequency lately or even feelings of having to go too much. I have an occasional period of frequency, but when I go I really seem to have to go. I've been going 4 - 6 times a day avera...

Re: Bowling?

Thanks Carl and Scooby. I'm still kind of in the stage where I don't know exactly what's going on and what makes it worse or what makes it better. I am trying to stay more relaxed and that does seem to help. I definitely want to start bowling and other activities again that I used to do.

Re: Bowling?

Thanks. I have bowled a few times and it hasn't seemed to make things any worse, but I was just curious if anyone out there had some firsthand experience with it. Guess I won't know until I try.

Re: Bowling?

Thanks for the replies guys. After the few times I bowled in the last few months I can't tell if it made things worse or not. Maybe I'll see how the summer goes and make a decision in the fall.

Re: Bowling?

Well, I've pretty much given up alcohol. I haven't been a big drinker for the most part in my life. I would binge drink on the weekends at times in my younger days, but not even so much of that the past few years. I drink now and then when bowling, but not normally. Your thoughts about putting press...

Bowling?

I used to be a regular league bowler and a pretty good one at that. Since I had surgery on my Achilles last year I haven't bowled in league, but I had developed my CPPS symptoms while recovering from that. I have bowled a few times this year, but can't tell if it aggravated things or not. Just curio...
