You are right to target the psychological aspect, which is very strong in your case.

Hydrodistension, making the bladder super full, can alleviate IC-CPPS symptoms for a while (days). I have my theory as to why (described elsewhere). The "discomfort" you are feeling is the first step on the way to pain. It's good that you are getting active about it early.

Relaxants are not very valuable unfortunately, although some are helped. You could search the forum for Flexeril, Zanaflex, Valium aka diazepam (the benzodiazepines are muscle relaxers too), baclofen, for more comments. Also see gabapentin (Neurontin), which acts as a spasmolytic (antispasmodic).

Hot baths (30 minutes, warm as you can comfortably bear) and saunas are something you could try

Re: Vitaprost

Well, if they could get published in a well known journal rather than the obscure Urologiia, which has a poor impact factor, maybe we'd know about this bovine peptide treatment. As such, no, we don't know about it.

Re: Vitaprost

I have not, probably because it targets bacterial prostatitis.

Answers: The pinching feeling you have in the scrotum is a fairly unusual symptom, almost certainly nerve-related, may be a form of paresthesia . You may need to try some other treatments, like topical anesthetic. Yes that should be fine Upper body work on the bench is the way to go I would keep it ...

Re: May I post my thoughts on CPPS being an active infection?

Sensitive diagnostic tests now demonstrate that healthy urinary tracts host a ubiquitous, complex microbial community. Recognition of this microbiome, largely undetectable using standard agar-based cultures, offers a new perspective on "UTI." Everyone is bacteriuric. From this perspective, most peo...

Re: New here - My Story, Desperate for Help.

Yes. Nerves are notoriously slow to heal. I would get back into it really slowly, watching for any flares it may cause. Avoid foods on the IC Diet list for a lot longer. You can avoid some exam stress by studying consistently throughout the semester. Don't let it pile up at the end. That's a lot of...

Re: Sits Bone & Coccyx Pain

I would suggest you see a physical therapist. Many pains in and around the pelvis are amenable to physical therapy. Don't start catastrophizing about nerves etc until you've been assessed.

Re: CPPS and Gut microbiome

I've recently upped my intake of soluble fibre (good sources are pumpkin and split peas) to increase the number of bacteria associated with processing this fibre. Results on my gut and general health have been good so far. As the number of fibre-processing bacteria rise, the number of pro-inflammato...

The next things to add to your regimen are relaxation strategies (meditation, listening while lying in a darkened room to "neuroacoustic" music like that produced by Dr Jeff Thompson, see below), Headache in the Pelvis, and a good dose of quiet patience.
