Re: Physical Therapist - Central NJ

Call Marilyn Freedman in Great Neck, NY. She's well worth the trip.

Re: New to the Forum, and DESPERATE!

Canuck,

Call or e-mail Marilyn Freedman a.s.a.p. I saw two other PTs before her. In hindsight, they were a waste of time. But hey - you live and learn.

Good luck.

Marilyn Freedman: a godsend!

Hello, all -- Been awhile since I posted, though I try to keep up with my reading. After some hemming and hawing, I finally made an appt. with Marilyn Freedman. It is, by far, the smartest decision I've made since this all started. She and her associate (whose name I forget) started by assembling a ...

Precisely why I asked. The name would lead one to think otherwise. A little mis-truth in advertising, perhaps.....

"ProstaBladder" supplement?

Has anyone heard of this supplement? It's advertised in the FeelGoodStore.com catalog. According to the blurb in the catalog, it includes Crateva, Horsetail, Saw Palmetto, Lycopene, Zinc, and Selenium. Any thoughts?

Re: Pain question and NYC docs

Did Kaufman have you do the KCL sensitivity test? Dr. Kaufman did not give me the KCL test, nor did it ever come up in the conversation. I had been diagnosed with IC earlier in the year by another uro; Dr. Kaufman read the report and commented, "Well, OK, he made a textbook diagnosis." He said that...

Re: Abdominal massage/trigger points

Marilyn Freedman is her name. Just post on the forum and sure the guys will help. Could not find contact info. Like I said just post for info on her. I have spoken to her on the phone. She was quite helpful and supportive. I completed five months of weekly PT at the end of March. I think we reached...

I saw Dr. Kaufman, and he is the one who prescribed PT for me.

Who might that be? I had seen Sara Lewis of Duffy and Bracken, down on Maiden Lane in the financial district.

Re: Abdominal massage/trigger points

Very interesting. I believe that these muscles are the main source of my problem. Thanks for posting.

Re: Frequency vs. pain (Mpozatek's Case)

Hi, gents -- Until my cysto. in early '07, I had no pain, just frequency and mild urgency. Since that time, I've had some 'discomfort' -- not crippling pain. I carry on pretty much as normal, except that when I sit, my pelvis feels all bunched up. My PT's did do some internal work, but we found that...

Re: Frequency vs. pain (Mpozatek's Case)

I've done all the obvious - monitor fluid intake, cut caffeine, watch spicy foods, reduce alcohol. . . Also, my frequent urination only occurs during the day - I can sleep through the night without getting up. I'm in the exact same boat. Some days I can go 3+ hours without voiding, other days it's ...

Re: Where I'm at.....where I'm headed (Hafegeo's case) - update

Hello all, Went to the uro yesterday. Since there was slight improvement with Enablex, he'd like to go the conservative route. We're also going to try Visatril. Since I do have strong and steady streams at times, he doesn't think there's a stricture, and he'd rather wait and see before doing any pro...

Re: Where I'm at.....where I'm headed (Hafegeo's case)

I asked that question because I am trying to find a reason why some of your symptoms date from the cystoscopy. Unfortunately, the best bet now is to go to another uro and have a flexible cystoscopy to check for stricture. Darned if I know. I've spent the last fifteen months trying to figure that ou...

Re: Where I'm at.....where I'm headed (Hafegeo's case)

As I asked before, did you have a Potassium Sensitivity Test? I did not, nor has any uro ever mentioned it. And from what I've read, there are significant questions about its reliability as a diagnostic method -- which I suppose one could say about any procedure. I'm not terrilbly concerned about p...
