Re: PT Therapists in Los Angeles? Any recommendations?
Pelvic Pain Rehab (see website) has an office on the westside on Olympic. This would be very convenient for you.

Good news for Los Angeles patients.
Stephanie Prendergast is opening a branch in the West LA area in May. This is great news as she and her business partner are leaders in the field of treating CPPS and have a renowned practice in the Bay Area. Check out Www.pelvicpainrehab.com for more info. Also I would also highly recommend Dan Kir...

Re: Chicagoland PT
Maureen O'Keefe does Myfascial Trigger Point Massage and Maureen does treat men. She also really understands chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome & IC, she listens and she works with you. She will give you stretching recommendations and demonstrate good stretches. She does thorough...

Re: Chicagoland PT
I went to Rhonda Kotarinos' office. I'm surprised she is not listed here as she is a leader in the PT treatment of CPPS. I went to her associate Maureen Okeefe until I left L.A. - definitely worth the investment. They don't take insurance so if you have insurance you will need to submit the claims (...

Re: Chicago PT recommendation?
Guy - 2 things: 1) I saw Sheila Dugan. She seems fairly competent and is part of the integrated chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome program at Rush. I worked the entire program but it was not nearly as helpful as PT. 2) Regarding KOTARINOS insurance. True - they don't take insurance, ...

Re: Brain's Connection to Pain
This is really interesting. It's amazing how we can interpret pain differently. Which, again, explains why the mind / cognitive component to all of this is significant.

Jay - I was disheartened and sad to hear that you had relapsed to the point where you've been bedridden. You've been such an inspirtation, educator and encourager to so many of the people on the board. I'm hoping that you will begin to heal again and make continued progress. My thoughts and best wis...

Re: Cleveland Clinic
I met with the bariatric internist today and he told me that he would not recommend nor do surgery on me due to my urinary issues. He felt that the weight loss surgery coupled with what I am going through currently would be too traumatic / painful. On the other hand I've lost another 3 lbs and so th...
