Re: 8 Years In - How to beat this!

The best source for good drawings is the Wise Headache in the Pelvis book. Here is what I can describe for you, if you start on the sides of the abdomen about belly button height working down at an angle toward the top of the pubic bone I would typically find if I pressed firmly I could feel a tende...

8 Years In - How to beat this!

I am writing this as a way of giving back to this community. You see eight years ago I was in utter misery. I was aggressive in seeking treatment but the medical industry had little to offer. I had two things going on at once. A urinary restriction and Prostatitis. The urinary restriction was taken ...

New Flare

I am about 3.5 years into this. The first year was hell on earth. I haven't had any symptoms for almost a year, and just had a minor flare this week. I will have this beat in a few days. The difference is now I know how to deal with it. Step 1 find the trigger point. This is extremely important, I c...

You could have your Uro do a flowrate test. Basically pee into a container that is part of a machine that measures the flow. If you have a good flow rate vs bad flow rate it can be used to determine if there is an obstruction. It is non-invasive. By the way I have had the cysto a few times. It was n...

What I wish I knew after 3 years in

I feel the need to give back in some small way to the great people in the forum that hold out hope for others. What I wish I knew. I am not sure what caused the initial flare up, likely stress and maybe a bladder infection. Anyway the first 3 months were the worst. I had a restriction that was causi...

How close to a cure?

Just looking for an opinion from the more knowledgeable members? How close is the research community to a solid understanding of the root cause and cure to this disease.

Do you think we are a couple years away? 5 years? 10 years? Never?

What is your best guess?

Urologist / PT recommendation in Minnesota?

Can anyone suggest a good urologist in Minnesota near Minneapolis or St. Paul that is experienced in managing Prostatitis. A urologist who is experienced in obtaining an accurate 4 glass test to rule out bacterial prostatitis would be a plus. Yes I realize it is very unlikely, but it would be worth ...

I had surgery for a urethrial valve (skin flap). I still have prostatitis, but that is mild compaired to living with a major bladder restriction. If a person has very weak flow it will greatly magnify the flare symptoms as your bladder has to push very hard to move urine past the restriction. This c...

Generally a pool will have a chlorine smell when the levels of chlorine are actually too low. What you smell are chloramines. These are formed when insufficient levels of free available chlorine react with ammonia and other nitrogen-containing compounds sweat sunscreen, urine, whatever. A well maint...

John Krieger defender

I would like to provide balance to the criticism that is being leveled at Dr. John Krieger. I had a horrible experience with Prostatitis a few years ago. I saw two doctors and two urologists who put me on antibiotics which reduced symptoms at first, but then the symptoms got worse to the point of be...
