Well for the NIH to do this type of research is astonishing to say the least, considering the type of research the NIH is prospectively doing ,the results could probably prove to be remarkable; specifically for men that do have a genetic or biological component to their pelvic pain and not a muscle ...

I used to have the worst burning after defecation. Had a sigmoidoscopy done and the doc said there was redness. Went to a GI doc who shoved a finger up there and said he found nothing. Went to another GI doc who scoped me out good. Found a fissure and some internal roids. Have no problems defecating...

The links I posted about refer to TMS (Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation) has been approved by the FDA to treat depression. There is some evidence of TMS benefit to the HPA axis.
