Flomax v. uroxatrol

Hey all, As I've mentioned here before, my doctor -- Dr. Moldwin, of Long Island Jewish Hospital, who specializes in this problem -- had given me some uroxatrol plus Elavil to help with my frequency/urgency problem. This had been fairly effective -- except for when I haver to sit for long periods (s...

Bleeding from Aleve (naproxen) (Naproxen)

Hi all, I found that one that really helped me was daily Aleve (naproxen) -- three pills a day. I found today that I had blood in my stool, presumably from that. (It says online that too much Naproxen can cause that.) It really freaked me out. Any advice? Do others find Aleve (naproxen) helpful? Any...

meatal dilitation

Hey all,
Anyone here heard of "meatal dilitation" surgery? A friend had it done to relieve his frequency/urgecy symptoms, and said it worked for him.

5ARIs (e.g. finasteride)

Hey I read about something called 5ARIs -- one such pill is called Finasteride. Anyone have any luck with them? I heard this kind of drug, in combo with an alpha blocker such as Uroxatrol, can help. As I've written here before, I've had some good success with a mixed bag of treatment options (Stanfo...

Well, both my insurance pays for 70 percent of both Marilyn and Dr. Moldwin, so -- while I lay out a lot of money -- I do get reimbursed for a lot of it.

But those cash lay-outs do hurt. But, if you don't spend money on getting better, what else should you spend it on?

checking in

Hi all, Thanks to this site, to Marilyn Freedman (a great NY-based PT, well-schooled in the Stanford/Wise-Anderson Protocol), to SP stretching, and -- especially -- to the IF/TENS unit I've mentioned here before, I feel much better lately. (The TENS/IF unit is called Rehabilicare, and some insurance...

GP2,
FiberCare tablets can be taken with no water, before bed. Those are good. As is the Natural Calm Magnesium supplement. AND VSL#3 is great for digestion. It's a high-concentration of yogurt cultures. Woks like a charm.

anyone heard of this machine?

I know it's pobably bullshit, but they make a lot of claims, and produce numbers to back it up. Now, I could make up numbers, too. So I'm wondering if you guys have heard tell of this at all? http://www.vibroacousticresearch.com/article13.htm And, again, I've found a lot of relief for my ugency prob...

TRUS(t) also in me

hey: As I've mentioned (probably too often now), my wife and I are trying to conceive. The hot baths that I was taking ran roughshod over my sperm count. But to make sure that that was really the case, I had a TRUS done (trans-rectal ultrasound), to see if I had any blockage in my seminal vesicles. ...

Elavil question

Hey all, As I mentioned a while back, I've been doing better -- due, in large part, to this IF machine I got form my PT called Rehabilicare IF 3 wave. (I really recommend it for trigger points on the back, pubic bone, and butt.) Look into it as a way to supplement the SP, if you can. Some insurances...

I tried Milk of Magnesia -- it works, but you have to be very careful with it; too much and it gives you diarrhoea, and then it's hard to find the balance you need. It can throw you off for a while. Again -- and I really have some experience with this problem -- I'd try: Benefiber tablets at night N...

For constipation, try: Benefiber tablets at night Natural Calm powder (magnesium), also at night, and VSL #3 (http://www.vsl3.com) plus, if need be, also try Activa yogurt (found in the supermarket). I had bad constipation for a long time -- even before CPPS. (I think they're related for me). But i'...

Fertility & CPPS

I had a discouraging day yesterday. I work from home, and therefore had found that the treatment which was helping me the most -- hot baths -- was something I could do a lot. So, I'd been taking 3-4 VERY hot baths a day. Well, I found out yesterday that my sperm count is down to around 3 million per...
