Re: AUA 2011 - Highlights

My guess on the cardiovascular issues associated with UCPPS is simply the stress men feel from this disorder can contribute to the hardening of the arteries via the (HPA) axis??? I think if the medical researchers followed other chronic debilitating conditions...you would also find an increase in ca...

Well deserved recognition to Dr. Wise and Dr. Anderson...Any one who comes here to argue that what we support is bogus can now look no further...The protocol is now recognized in the most respected urological published peer reviewed journal!

Re: The DABBEC Phenotyping System

Fantastic! I always said this is a constellation of issues that bring the initial onset. The main factors are rooted in stress, genetics ( and how we handle stress based on our gene pool) and diet...can't wait to read Dr. D's take...

Re: Study: Elavil not effective for IC

Also it's important to understand this aspect...At a low dose Elavil can ease anxiety according to my doctor...Which makes sense why it has helped in my case. Ease anxiety you ease chronic tensing of muscles and so forth...Now it's to the point where I take 10mg a week! Not to treat the syndrome but...

Re: Celebrex study for inflammation

I have done my fair share of NSAID like mobic and Aleve (naproxen) which are classical cox-1 and cox-2 inhibitors where Celebrex is a targeted cox-2 only...But you still have the possibility of gastro problems in the long run right? This is where the study gets confusing??? In the end it possibly tr...

Re: Stress-induced HPA axis changes in CP/CPPS

This is huge... We have always associated stress and anxiety with our syndrome. Again the irony we have said about the old school uros saying it's all in our heads is so ironic...They were right after all... Here is the key factor...what came first the chicken or the egg...Were these controls...

Re: Ejaculatory Duct dysfunction and CPPS

This article is misleading because the title states dysfunction but the article discusses obstruction ...In the case of proven obstruction, well then yes have that surgically taken care of...But why is it titled "dysfunction" in your header? As a matter of fact confirmed EDO...should not f...

Re: Ejaculatory Duct dysfunction and CPPS

I don't agree with this at all.... What were looking at is pelvic floor dysfunction and as a whole the dysfunction can relate to all the processes of the pelvic floor and the organs that are supported by it... I'm willing to say that 99.9999% of any men who have had any surgery to treat their UCPPS ...
