Small Update

At this point the pelvic floor PT has stated that she doesn't think the muscles themselves are causing the pain. She is going to try stimulating the nerves. She said something along the lines that sometimes nerves become over sensitive and that this can help turn them off. I think she will still mas...

September Update - 6 months now. I'm officially chronic!

Well, I saw my regular Urologist in mid July for the last time. He had tried me on Cipro, celebrex (anti-inflammatory) and alpha blockers. He pretty much told me there was nothing more he could do. He did refer me to a pelvic pain physiotherapist and to Dr Curtis Nickel in Kingston. I saw Dr. Nickel...

I have had pelvic pain for about 4 months now. I have had 3 urine tests done. The first was negative for blood. The second, which was taken about 2 hours after visiting a urologist and having a DRE done was positive for microscopic blood. I had a third test done and a cytology analysis. The third te...

I agree that it is likely best to learn from someone with experience, but really what can hurt by trying? I'd l...

Thanks to those that have replied so far. It is good to know that what I am going through is very similar to other experiences of people who are at least feeling somewhat better now. After many weeks of partial depression and being terrified of this problem I decided I needed to make a change. I als...

Recently Diagnosed

I am 34 and have been recently diagnosed with Prostatitis. I am a computer system admin and played online games quite a bit at night. I live in Ontario so seeing a Urologist can take some time. I first felt my symptoms on March 3rd, 2006. When I first got the symptoms they came on very fast. Within ...
