Re: New Here: Could I have typical CPPS?

I've had prostate surgery three times now - first time was 10 years ago and after nine rough months it gave me six good years before the bladder neck closed up again (tissue continues to grow). That took 11 months to calm down and lasted for 18 months after that before the bottom of my prostate grew...

Re: Don't know what I have but could this be CPPS

If the uros suspect a tight bladder neck is causing problems then they should really be offering video urodynamic testing to determine impact and obstruction. A cystoscopy is not enough.

Re: Dat der flaring...

Same old, same old - gradual improvements with ups and downs. Still a lot milder than last time but prob several months before it gets to that consistently decent state.

Re: Dat der flaring...

I could, but didn't feel well enough to even think about it until the six week mark. As I've got great cover, it's no biggie. Again, although this hasn't kicked off my CPPS nearly as badly as the last op, it's still been flared up a bit, so not going to push things and potentially spend another year...

Re: Dat der flaring...

Thanks, Sora. Three month update: things continuing to improve week by week with the odd hiccup. Most of the time it's mild to moderate (mostly mild) irritation in the urethra and suprapubic region and a bit of frequency, although that has continued to improve and I don't have nocturia. Saw my consu...

Re: Dat der flaring...

Two months after my TURP and things are progressing pretty well. Generally I have a little discomfort after urination, which is not exacerbated by a bowel movement, and am pretty comfortable. My remaining issues are more around frequency and urgency, but these are improving as the wound site continu...

Re: Dr. Song - New Review

Ah, this decade's John and Debbie, then. Also, this: I can definitely confirm that I am cured, however, I still have a hefty healing process to go through that will take some time. LOLno. But hey: if you want to risk contracting Hep C for something that'll only empty your wallet and not help you the...

Re: Dat der flaring...

It's been a month since I had my Turp. Flow rate is much improved, and back to what it was after my op in 2015. Symptoms aren't too bad, and in line with what's to be expected after this procedure. Hopefully things will settle over the next several months, and the problem will be resolved for at lea...

Re: Dat der flaring...

The urodynamics test was bought forward, so had it a week past last Saturday, and discussed the results with my Uro yesterday. The tests confirmed there is a bladder outlet obstruction localised at the lateral lobes/apex of the prostate, so I've booked in for a TURP this coming Tuesday. My Uro is pr...

Re: Dat der flaring...

Yeah, it's a bummer, and I was hoping to never have to go through this nonsense again, but it is what it is.
Strangely, this third episode has been the easiest to manage. Once you accept that there's steps you need to do, it takes a long time, but you will get better, it's tolerable.

Re: Dat der flaring...

Had the urodynamics study today. The results were pretty much the same as 10 years ago although the obstruction is localised at the prostate not the bladder neck. The consultant also feels that my pelvic floor could be a bit out of whack, so I'll be back to the stretches and relaxation again. Next s...

Re: Bladder pain

BPH doesn't always raise PSA level. At your age I would consider a cystoscopy or at least a flow rate test.

Re: Dat der flaring...

My videourodynamics test has been bought forward to this Saturday. The alpha blockers have helped quite a bit, so not looking forward to this week as I have to come off them for the test. Still, needs must. Hopefully the Turp will follow soon after and then it's a matter of dealing with the slow bur...

Re: Dat der flaring...

I've been on the Tamsulosin for about five weeks now, and whilst not a perfect solution, it has helped a lot - my symptoms, whilst still not exactly wonderful, are a lot more tolerable and I'm getting out and about and going to the gym. I'm not sure they'll continue to improve enough to be satisfact...
