Sitting on an airplane for 6 hours

Hi all. I am supposed to fly out to the West Coast from Philadelphia in a few days for my girlfriend's college graduation ceremony. The plane ride is 6 hours long. Unfortunately, my pelvic pain is flaring up really bad at the moment: I am in agony after a 45-minute car ride to work. I'm thinking of ...

Sitz Bath

Can anyone recommend a good sitz bath that I can buy online? I don't understand how these things work. You put them over your toilet. So do you just pour hot water into it? And what is the plastic bag for? Here's a picture of one for those of you who aren't familiar with a sitz bath: https://www.ame...

Re: getting emotional

I've noticed in the past that there have been times where I felt like I could cry (or really wanted to) or get pissed off at something but it was impossible, like my body had it trapped. I know exactly what you mean. I've had depression for most of my life, but even during the absolute worst of tim...

So does the PT you're seeing do anything else with you besides trigger point release, like relaxation techniques?

Trauma

I have a very interesting situation. For a while I was having problems with frequency and urgency of urination, which now seem to be in remission. However, after sustaining an injury to my testicles last December (I bumped into the edge of a desk - very painful), I am having very, VERY bad testicula...

Thanks for the reply.

I've heard that cystoscopy can worsen CPPS symptoms, sometimes long-term. So you have never heard of this happening with colonoscopy? I'm afraid that it will press a trigger point or something.

I was supposed to have this procedure done a few months back. After reading about it on the internet (including this forum), I decided it wasn't worth it.

Good luck though. I hope everything works out for you.

Colonoscopy and CPPS symptoms

I'm scheduled for a colonoscopy soon, but I am worried it may aggravate my CPPS symptoms (frequent urination, testicle and perineum pain). Does anyone know if this is a risk?

Frequent urination more prominent than pain

If my primary symptoms are frequency, suddeness, and urgency, is it more likely that I have IC rather than CPPS? I don't really get much pain in the pelvic area, just a feeling of pressure which is usually associated with the feeling of having to urinate. This pressure is often still there even afte...

I was on Ditropan as well. It helped with the urgency and seemed to decrease the volume of urine I was producing, but it made it hard to urinate. And I still felt like I had to go, just not as badly.

Cheers for your reply Mastcells. My uro doesn't want to do a hydrodistention, but I'm considering talking him into it. If I have IC, I want to know for certain. Is there any additional risk with hydrodistention? I know it will aggravate my symptoms temporarily, but is there any chance of long-term d...

cystoscopy and sexual dysfuntion

Hello all. I am a 24 year old with frequent urination/suddeness/urgency issues and pelvic pain. My doctor wants me to have a cystoscopy done to check for any abnormalities. However, I know that this procedure carries a small risk of causing urethral stricture disease and Peyronnie's disease. Since I...
